Sun Microsystems Inc. is reaching for a larger share of the blade server market with Wednesday's launch of new models, including the first-ever Sun blades from its new alliance with chip maker Intel Corp.


APC shows off fuel cells for the data center
APC has demonstrated a fuel cell unit that fits into a standard data center rack, aimed at displacing traditional diesel generators whose job is to supply backup power. The fuel cell is aimed at installations where environmental concerns outweigh cost. It could also be a pointer for future, greener data centers.


Microsoft sued by French TV company over Vista name
French television presenter Philippe Gildas has sued Microsoft Corp. for "violation of intellectual property," accusing the software publisher of illegally using the trademark "Vista."

The riskiest keyword searches are for terms related to digital music and tech toys; those searches return risky links nearly 20 percent of the time.
